My Week With Marilyn

And you can’t complain about kissing Emma Watson. Isn’t that what everyone in the world wants to do? I’ve known Emma for a few years. She’s this amazing capacity of young and vibrant and brilliant, but also a bright, intelligent old soul.

Eddie Redmayne on kissing Emma Watson, My Week With Marilyn

You know what’s going to happen. I’m going to fall in love with you. I’m going to fall in love with you because I always, always do

INTO THE WILD

bstinsons:

Happiness only real when shared.

The sea’s only gifts are harsh blows, and occasionally the chance to feel strong. Now I don’t know much about the sea, but I do know that that’s the way it is here. And I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong. To measure yourself at least once. To find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions. Facing the blind death stone alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head.

It is true that I miss intelligent companionship, but there are so few with whom I can share the things that mean so much to me that I have learned to contain myself. It is enough that I am surrounded with beauty.
Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

The Young Victoria

Queen Victoria: Why did you do it? So stupid, why did you do it?
Prince Albert: I had two very good reasons. First, I am replaceable and you are not.
Queen Victoria: You are not replaceable to me!
Prince Albert: Second, you’re the only wife I’ve got or ever will have. You are my whole existence, and I will love you until my very last breath.

On The Road

” I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn’t know who I was - I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I’d never seen, hearing the hiss of steam outside, and the creak of the old wood of the hotel, and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceiling and really didn’t know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds. I wasn’t scared; I was just somebody else, some stranger, and my whole life was a haunted life, the life of a ghost “

I realized these were all the snapshots which our children would look at someday with wonder, thinking their parents had lived smooth, well-ordered lives and got up in the morning to walk proudly on the sidewalks of life, never dreaming the raggedy madness and riot of our actual lives, our actual night, the hell of it, the senseless emptiness.
Sal Paradise
We turned at a dozen paces, for love is a duel, and looked at each other for the last time.

I suppose in the end, the whole of life becomes an act of letting go, but what always hurts the most is not taking a moment to say goodbye.

- Yann Martel, The Life of Pi
You must take life the way it comes at you and make the best of it.
Yann Martel, Life of Pi

I’ve never forgotten him. Dare I say I miss him? I do. I miss him. I still see him in my dreams. They are nightmares mostly, but nightmares tinged with love. Such is the strangeness of the human heart. I still cannot understand how he could abandon me so unceremoniously, without any sort of goodbye, without looking back even once. The pain is like an axe that chops my heart.”
Yann Martel (Life of Pi)

IT’S NOT THE VIOLENCE THAT SETS MEN APART BUT THE DISTANCE THEY ARE PREPARED TO GO
Was all love. I love the dude like a brother, straight up. I think the man’s a genius. I think he’s incredible.” -  Shia LaBeouf on working on Lawless with Tom Hardy

Jack, look at me. We’re survivors. We control the fear. And without the fear, we are all as good as dead. Do you understand? - Do you?

You just gonna watch me forever?
